Drag Race

Description:

The race course will be from here, the northwest corner of Black Swan Castle south, then east, then south and along the route to the hole, then back. You are advised to look it over for yourself before the race so you know the lay of the land.

Signup Rules:

  1. The drag races will be the first event. You must signup for the race during the signup period.
  2. Each team must be "set" at the time of signup. No one person can enter and say they are still looking for a partner.
  3. We will be accepting 25 team signups for the Drag Races.
  4. Only one member of each team should sign up to cut down on confusion.
  5. When the race host call for people to sign-up, everyone wanting to participate will raise their hand. The race host will take the names of the first 25 people with their hands raised.
  6. The race host will then call each person by name. When your name is called, give the race host the name of your partner, and any team name you wish to use, such as the Racing Roltons.
  7. The race host will then tell you which heat your team will be in for the preliminary races. You must be present when your name is called at signup and again before your heat starts or you will forfeit.

Rules of the Race:

  1. Each team will consist of 2 people: Person A and Person B.
  2. Person A (the dragger) will drag Person B (the dragee) from the NW corner of the castle to the hole. Person B must be lying down the entire time.
  3. Person B will then stand and Person A will lie down. Then Person B (the new dragger) will drag Person A (the new dragee) from the hole to the NW corner of the castle.
  4. At no time during the race may the dragee stand up until it is time to switch.
  5. There will be 5 preliminary races with 5 teams each.
  6. There will be one final race between the winners of the 5 preliminary races.
  7. Each race has a maximum time limit of 5 minutes (as calculated by the officiator, the race host ).
  8. If no teams have completed the race by the time limit, then the one that is closest to the finish line will win. In the event of a tie (which can only happen if two or more teams are in the same spot and the race is ended by the time limit), then those teams that tie will all go to the final round.
  9. Upon signup, each team will be scheduled for a heat. If a team is unavailable at the start time for their race they have forfeited.
  10. If 4 out of 5 teams forfeit a Race then the 5th team will join the next race, instead of getting an automatic "bye."
  11. If a team is unavoidably detained anytime during their scheduled race time, they will forfeit (unless they are able to come back and win anyway).
  12. All rulings by the race host will be final.
  13. All competitors will be dispelled before their heat to make sure no one has an unfair advantage. Once dispelled you may not leave the starting line of the race.

Strength is not only a physical attribute, but is also part and parcel of strength of character. Someone with strength of character will not detract from another's accomplishment by crying "foul" due to their own misfortune.
